EXPORT-CONTROLLED ENCRYPTION SOFTWARE
Software cryptosystems incorporating high-grade ciphers without a user-independent mechanism for key recovery are considered encryption items - Category EI in the Commerce Control List, 15 CFR 774. Under the Export Administration Act, 50 USC 2401 the penalty for unlicensed export from the USA is a fine, not to exceed $1,000,000 and/or prison term, not to exceed 10 years for each offense.

Our export-controlled products can only be lawfully licensed to customers who are either:

  1. A citizen of the United States of America or person who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the USA under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, who is requesting delivery in the USA and plans to install the product(s) only on computers located in the USA, and who agrees to comply with all applicable US export control regulations and pay all applicable state sales taxes for delivery outside Massachusetts; or

  2. A citizen of Canada, who is requesting delivery in Canada and plans to install the product(s) only on computers located in Canada, and who agrees to comply with all Canadian law regulating the export from Canada of strong cryptographic software obtained from the USA and pay all applicable provincial sales taxes.

Upon receipt of the Basic License Fee and US$10-per-copy Registration Fee(s), after verification of the US or Canadian location of the Internet domain name for requested e-mail delivery, we will send you a self-extracting e-mail attachment of less than 100K in size that will convert your installed copy of the 32-bit or 16-bit demonstrator into the corresponding fully-functional, individually-licensed cryptosystem.

If we are unable to confirm the domain name location we will so-notify you by e-mail. In that case, or if you have requested physical media, we will mail 1.44MB diskettes to your US or Canadian residence upon payment of the US$10-per-copy Media Fee and applicable Shipping Charges.
